- Manufacturing Process
First, the operating temperature range of silicone gaskets and rubber gaskets is different. Silicone gaskets can work smoothly in the temperature range of -40℃ to 220℃, but the maximum temperature that rubber gaskets can withstand is only 176℃. Rubber gaskets will start to wear at 176 degrees and melt at 248 degrees. Silicone works better in extreme weather and strong ultraviolet rays outdoors.
Secondly, silicone gaskets are more chemically inert. Silicone is insoluble in water and any solvents, non-toxic and odorless, and has more stable chemical properties. However, rubber cannot be used with substances such as ozone, strong acids, and grease. Silicone is not affected.
All in all, silicone gaskets perform better than rubber gaskets and are more stable to use, especially in extremely high temperatures.
