Advantages of Legensilico Silicone Mirrors
![]()
Anti-Fog Design
In high-humidity environments like bathrooms and shower rooms, water vapor easily forms fog on mirrors, affecting your normal use. Our silicone mirrors combine an anti-fog mirror finish and anti-fog surface finish to reduce the moisture impact on mirror clarity.
Soft-Touch Silicone
The silicone material has a soft touch and non-slip properties, making it suitable for handheld or portable mirrors that are handled frequently. For some families with children and the elderly, a silicone mirror is safer. It also provides you with more design options for appearance.
Impact Protection
The lens itself is a fragile component. Silicone mirror can’t ensure that the lenses will not break at any time. But a silicone frame or full-edge wrap structure absorbs kinetic shock, reducing edge-impact fractures in daily use. It is of practical significance for portable mirrors and bathroom mirrors.
Waterproof Structure
Silicone is widely used to seal mirror frames due to its good water resistance. In bathrooms and other humid environments, silicone edge-sealing designs help you reduce moisture ingress into the mirror edges or interior, preventing rust or inhibiting bacterial growth.
Silicone Molding Technologies for Mirror Products

Silicone Overmolding
Silicone overmolding directly molds silicone around the lens, which is the core process for manufacturing silicone frames and protective covers. If you have an established lens supplier, we also provide the customer-supplied lens overmolding service. Send consignment molding to us. Legensilico will finish the overmolding and subsequent processing based on your product design.
Compression Molding
Compression molding is a traditional and efficient molding method, suitable for your silicone frames and accessories with established geometries. The mold is straightforward, making it ideal for mass production.
LSR Injection Molding
LSR Injection Molding enables shorter production cycles and better detail reproduction. If you want to develop a silicone frame with precision sealing grooves or thin-walled structures, it is useful to reduce burr and control consistent quality.
| Quick Comparison Table | |||
| Comparison Items | Silicone Overmolding | Compression Molding | LSR Injection Molding |

Silicone Mirror Applications and Hardness Guide
Based on our mature silicone compression molding and overmolding technologies, Legensilico provides customized silicone mirror solutions for various industries.
- Personal Care: For frequent handling and carrying, we use a soft Shore A 20A–40A formulation with a soft-touch surface finish, offering you a comfortable grip. We support a matte/frosted or dust-resistant surface texture to balance visual texture and daily cleaning.
- Home Decoration: If you have needs for spatial aesthetics and custom styling, the shore A 40A–60A medium-hardness silicone enables organic shapes or asymmetrical designs, while providing stable structural support for your mirrors.
- Commercial Installation: For the high structural strength requirements of commercial environments, we recommend Shore A 40A–80A harder silicone. The base for a large vanity mirror can use Shore A 60A–80A to ensure robust structure and resistance to deformation. We support integrating powerful silicone suction cups, non-marking adhesive pads, or embedded slot structures to fasten the mirrors.
How Does Silicone Frame Design Improve Durability and Safety?
![]()
The silicone mirror frame is not only a decoration but also a structural security defense line. When subjected to impact, traditional rigid plastic or metal frames lack ductility, so the impact force will penetrate the lens and cause shatter. Sharp, jagged edges bring potential liability risks. You can improve the durability in two ways:
Optimized Stress Distribution
At the stage of design, adjusting the frame’s thickness and the internal streamlined structure forms a dynamic cushioning structure, distributing the impact force.
For example, we deliberately thicken the four corners or outer edges of the silicone frame that are prone to sustaining impact. Then, the inner side of the silicone frame is designed with internal micro-cavities and a wavy pattern. When impacted by an external force, these structures allow the silicone to deform into the reserved voids instead of stressing the mirrors. Besides, you can also use a streamlined curved design to replace 90-degree edges.
Reinforce the Locking Structure
Silicone is elastic. We minimize the dimensions of the silicone inner frame to be smaller than the actual lens dimensions (like 0.2 mm to 0.5 mm) for a slight interference fit. When you are assembling lenses and silicone layers, silicone will rebound and close against the lens.
Designing a recessed undercut groove within the silicone frame mold is also useful. The edge of the lens fits snugly into this groove to prevent the lens from shifting or becoming loose.
Under normal use, silicone frames are not prone to mold due to low water absorption. But if the moisture or oil remains on the silicone mirrors’ surface, it may still cause mold spots at the joints.
We advise you to wipe the silicone mirrors dry regularly. For routine cleaning, use a soft cloth and mild soapy water. Please do not use strong acids/ alkalis or abrasive cleaning tools.
Yes. The standard test includes dimensions, appearance, silicone hardness, and assembly sturdiness. We also support a customized testing process according to your target market testing requirements.
If you have the specified sampling standards like AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) requirements, or arrangements for third-party testing, we will adjust tests or assist with quality inspections, which are recommended to confirm this before mass production.
Yes. You can use different colors, such as black and white, to distinguish the silicone frame area or to create a signature brand color scheme. We support multi-color co-molding and dual-color injection molding processes to enhance the brand distinction.
If you want a three-dimensional effect, we have embossed and debossed options. The logo on the silicone mirror’s surface is suitable for minimalist brand identities. For color logos, printing methods such as screen printing are available.
The specific process also depends on the operating environment. If the silicone mirrors frequently come into contact with water or cleaning agents, we advise you to test the logo’s adhesion during the prototyping stage.
It depends on the mirror structure. The common methods include slot-based fixation, snap-fit assembly, bonding, silicone overmolding, etc. We recommend overmolding due to the sleek, integrated appearance and waterproof permanence, and a detachable slot design for easy maintenance and replacement.
The following dimensions are referenced during the initial selection. Silicone mirrors don’t have a uniform standard size. The actual specifications are customized based on your target applications.
For a portable pocket silicone mirror, the mirror size is generally within 80 mm. A handheld mirror of 80–150 mm is better suited for daily makeup and grooming. If it is a tabletop silicone mirror, you might consider a size of 150–250 mm. For wall-mounted mirrors, full-length mirrors, and other large-format mirrors, you can start with 250 mm, then further determine the exact size based on your installation space.
If you are unsure, you can tell us about product usage and environments, and our engineering team will evaluate the data and recommend the suitable specifications for you.
Yes. If the silicone mirror structure doesn’t change, the production molds can be used for subsequent reorders. It not only reduces subsequent mold development costs but also shortens the preparation time before repeat orders. Note that the molds also have a service life. We will check the wear condition after prolonged production.
